Things I miss about #pcf11 (in no particular order)

Can’t believe it was only one year ago

Whenever I’m in a journalism funk, a chat with one of them always manages to get me out of it. I learned so much during the two-week fellowship, not just from the actual program but also from the fellows.

I miss these cats.

“Rivers and roads…”

I think people feel that being objective means not having feelings about a story. I never thought that I should not be emotionally connected to a story, whether I’m interviewing a serial killer serving life or a principal of a school, or an elected official. I want to get in their heads, and the only way to get in their heads is to be engaged with who they are.
